Hug it Forward Guatemala Bottle School

Hug it Forward, based here in San Diego, went to Granados, Guatemala to help Peace Corps volunteers and local students build a school with plastic bottles stuff with plastic garbage acting as insulation. This is the first of several schools they hope to build in Guatemala. I acted as the producer of video shot by Zach Balle who is heading their efforts in Guatemala.

Bridging Worlds trailer

This video was put together as part of a trailer for an application for a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to do a documentary project with extensive coverage and storytelling about San Diego’s refugee community. If the grant is approved, the project would be done with the Heartland Foundation, East County Magazine and local professionals.
