International Pillow Fight Day San Diego

Today was International Pillow Fight Day, with fights organized in dozens of cities around the world, said the event organizer’s website.

It’s the next morning and I’m still picking feathers out of my hair, but I had a great time.

The event kept its energy when charges were made by organized factions of the crowd of more than 100 in the fountain plaza next to the city’s downtown Horton Plaza, directly in front of NBC 7/39 studios. After about an hour, it was noticeably hard for participants to breathe. That’s a whole lot of goose feathers.

Some wore costumes or pajamas, one guy wore a Mexican wrestling masks, another a motorcycle helmet, another wore the kid’s costume in Where the Wild Things Are.

As you’ll see in the pictures, people brought long couch pillows, Care Bears and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Green Day or hot pink bedazzled looking pillow covers.
